Welcome Kendall!!

First off, exciting news!! We had another little girl join the family on September 10. Joe's sister Katie had her baby Kendall. We are so excited for Katie, Kyle & Casey as they welcome their little girl home.

That was certainly the big news of the week. Dyllan continues to do "more" each day. She's pulling up to stand on anything she can get her hands on and our baby-proofing efforts are expanding each day based on all the news things we find her getting into. Today Dyllan and I attended "Baby Bash," which was a great party idea by my new friend Cat. She's a friend of a friend and invited a bunch of young moms and moms-to-be over to her house in Ardmore. It was great to connect with some other young moms. A pic of some of the kids below...

On the Go!

I recently picked up a walker for Dyllan at a Kid's Consignment sale. Cleaned it up real nice and it looks brand new! She's definitely gotten my 10 bucks worth already...running all around the house in it! She loves being mobile. Will try to get some video!

So much fun...

We have to close off the kitchen gates to keep Dyllan safe...and to protect Lucy's tail, which in addition to our toes, has gotten run over a few times...

Going full-speed ahead...

Indestructible!

My cousin got Dyllan this "Indestructibles" book which is rip-proof, waterproof, chew-proof, etc. She's really put it to the test and so far it's held up great! At restaurants she loves to play with the menu, but we always have to take it away, so this has been great to give her. Check them out here.

Rubber Ducky, you're the one....

Dyllan has outgrown her infant tub and didn't like taking a bath lying down anymore (like the infant tub forced her to do). Since she's still a bit too small for big girl baths, we bought her this transition tub. This blow-up rubber ducky tub allows her to sit upright and have more room. Bathtime has become so much fun. She loves it!

Stand Up!

Life seems to be getting busier every day and it's getting harder to keep up with our updates. But things are great here. Well, we did have one bit of big news this week, but it ultimately is a positive thing. Joe has been dealing with hip pain for years but the doctors he's seen have pretty much said his right hip is beyond repair with the effects of arthritis. Well, after a visit to the Rothman Institute in Center City this week, they basically told him a hip replacement or resurfacing were his best options. Previously nobody had seemed willing to do a hip replacement on a 28 year old. There's obviously a lot more details to this story, and if you really want them, feel free to contact Joe. But the bottom line is that we have surgery lined up for October 26th. Joe needs to do a little more research but I'm pretty sure he'll be going through with it.

Anyhow, that will be a big thing, but ultimately a positive as Joe will finally have an answer to his pain. All else is well. Dyllan is growing so fast! It really doesn't feel all that long ago to either of us that she was born and she's recently had some major milestones. 2 weeks ago Joe was surprised when he left Dyllan in sitting up position in the crib to run to his car quickly. When he returned she had pulled herself to standing position and had the biggest smile. She was so proud of her accomplishment.

Dyllan has also become quite mobile. She army crawl/inchworms her way everywhere. And she gets up on her hands and knees and rocks a lot...close to crawling "for real" I guess. We will likely be investing in some sort of playpen to corral her a bit so that we can walk away for a second without her winding up in another room!!

Here's D, so proud to be standing in her crib...

A wonderful weekend!

It was an amazing weekend that kicked off on Friday night with the wedding rehearsal and dinner for my sister Kelly and her now-husband Chris. Everything went smoothly and was a ton of fun. Of course the "real thing" was even better! Dyllan was junior flower girl and was pulled down the aisle by Chris' little brother, Noah. Of course the bride was BEAUTIFUL. Following the ceremony, the reception was a blast!! Thanks to the help of Joe's parents, we were able to really enjoy ourselves while they took over Dyllan duty and took her back to our house (we stayed at the hotel). We had SO much fun and are so appreciative for their help and making our night special. Here are just a few pics...

What a pretty bride...

Sisters...

As if it wasn't busy enough with an amazing wedding and reception, my sister and I had also planned a surprise 60th birthday party for my mom today (Sunday). Her birthday was actually on Saturday but with all the hub-bub of the wedding, wasn't suspcious of our plan to celebrate today. Joe and I had about 25 guests to our house and my mom was totally surprised. Perhaps the best part of all was an Eiffle Tower cake made by Eliza's Bakery in Phoenixville. If you EVER need a special cake, that's the place! The owner does amazing work. It was a great birthday party and a nice way to wrap up a special weekend. Some pics below...
SURPRISE!!

Busy summer, cont.

Our summer continues to be busy. Last weekend we enjoyed the wedding reception for Joe's Aunt Laura. Dyllan got fussy toward the end of the night as we pushed her bedtime back a bit, but enjoyed seeing her cousin Payton, Aunt Heather, Pop, Gigi, and many other family members. D had her 6-month well check today (even though she's actually closer to 7 months) and weighed 20 lbs! Phew!! Getting hard to carry! But she is doing wonderfully and is a healthy little girl. Barely even cried during her vaccinations.

The upcoming weekend will be VERY busy but exciting with my sister's wedding :) Dyllan is the Junior Flowergirl and we'll surely have lots of photos to share!!

In the mean time, enjoy some pics from Laura's reception...
