Overdue Update

Sorry I've slacked off a bit with updates but we've had a lot going on in our lives and at home lately. Dyllan is doing wonderful though and approaching four months old (May 9th). It's hard to believe. Every day she seems to be doing more and more new things and it's been an exciting learning experience for all of us. She now "talks" up a storm, reaches and grasps very well, and holds her head up like a champ during "tummy time." We are still anxiously awaiting her to roll over but with her broad shoulders we feel like that's a hard one for her. She tries to, and even gets up on her side, but can't quite make it all the way over yet. We almost feel like she would sit up first as she will now grab your hands and pull herself up very well. She likes being in sitting position so we are getting a lot of use out of the bumbo seat we borrowed from the Jones.

Dyllan was Dedicated last Sunday (April 18) at Faith Church. Afterwards we had our family over to the house for a celebration. Here are some photos from that day...

Happy 2nd Birthday Casey!

Our niece turned 2 earlier this month but we finally got to celebrate with a "Princess Party" in her honor. Cousins Payton and Dyllan wore their princess gowns for the affair...

Nordstrom Rocks

This shot is a little blurry, but I snapped it real quick at the mall today. Dyllan and I took a trip to KOP to take care of some overdue errands. I have to tell you that I'm now in LOVE with Nordstrom. If any of you have been unfortunate enough to have to listen to me gripe about how hard it is to find places to nurse in public you know how I can go on and on about it...but to me it's one of the hardest things about breastfeeding. I know I need to get more bold and just use the nursing shawl that I borrowed from a great friend, but I'm still a little uncomfortable in very public places...especially since Dyllan is so huge that her legs hang way out of it and she likes to kick a lot (trust me, I've gotten some crazy looks!) Well, any moms out there who aren't already familiar with this spot, here's my tip: the second floor bathroom at Nordstrom has this "Mother's Room" that not only has a comfy chair and couch for feedings, but a sink and an AWESOME changing table, which even has a wall as a barrier and nice plush pad (see how much Dyllan enjoyed it in photo above!) I despise the changing tables that come out of the wall and are so narrow that I press my whole body against it in case Dyllan ever decided to do her first "rollover." Never thought I'd get so excited about a changing table, but this made life so much easier. If only more stores and other public locales had places like this! Shout out to Nordstrom! I cannot afford your clothes, but I'm very grateful that you cater to moms.

First time in the activity center...

When Aunt Heather saw how well Dyllan holds her head now she suggested we try out the activity center. She is still a bit too young to push all the buttons or play with the toys, but she likes it when Mommy turns on the blinking lights and she seems to love being in this new position ("sitting" upright on her own). She is almost more interested in looking all around the house from her new vantage point!

HE is Risen!

Happy Easter, everyone. We love the celebratory feeling associated with this joyous holiday! And it was really a wonderful Easter here at the Getz household. We had a great afternoon feast with both sets of parents, Nana, Linz's Uncle Randy, and Kelly and Chris. Here's a quick look back at a great day...

Mommy is smart enough (now) to know that baby Dyllan should not get dressed until the last possible minute. We've had too many outfits pooped or puked on to come to this realization! So D just hung out in a snuggly blanket after a morning bath...

Her Easter dress was just waiting to be worn...

The calm before the storm- Sitting in Mom's lap prior to throwing a fit and being escorted out ;)

A family shot at church...

This is the only pic I thought to snap during Easter dinner. Here is my sister and her fiance :) Wish I had taken more!

After everyone left D got into her PJs

And spent some special time with Daddy.

Sunny Day

Dyllan, Lucy and Linz enjoyed some time on the deck yesterday. It's great to be getting outside more with this nice weather!! D seems to enjoy all the things there are to look at in our backyard. And Lucy laid right next to D's chair the whole time we sat out there. I'm not sure if it's because she really loves her or she knows that I'm bound to be giving the baby plenty of attention and wanted to get some too...
