Strawberry Festival

We took a nice little day trip today to Peddler's Village for their annual Strawberry Festival. Dyllan LOVES strawberries so we thought it'd be something enjoyable. When we found out her little buddy Brady (son of our friends Josh & Allison) also loves the sweet red fruit, we asked them all to join us! It was a fun day...

Dyllan's first-ever carousel ride wasn't as smooth as I anticipated...she was pretty scared. Brady was a little scared too...

Dyllan's really not so sure about riding the horse, but overall a very fun day!

Egg Hunt!

Dyllan had her first egg hunt today. My playgroup did a special "age appropriate" hunt at the park since all of the local community egg hunts had a lot of older kids and candy that the little ones can't eat. This was one for 12-24 months only, and we filled the eggs with snacks like goldfish or cheerios. We lined all the kids up and then let them run wild with their baskets! Dyllan did better than I thought. For one, she held her own basket, which many of the kids wouldn't do, and she even picked the eggs up for a while. I was very proud...

In the end, though, she was distracted by one of her little boy-friends that just wanted to run around on the baseball field. I'm not sure her daddy would be happy that she was chasing after a boy instead of the eggs ;)

A Girl and her Dog (and her stickers)

Dyllan absolutely ADORES our dog Lucy. While we can't say the feeling is totally mutual (Lucy spends a lot of time "sighing" and trying to avoid D's path), Lucy has been a very well behaved dog with the baby. Even though her looks just scream "Is she serious?" she will put up with Dyllan's antics. Those antics have included trying to ride the dog like a horse, laying on her, and chasing her around the house. Recently it also included putting stickers all over her. Lucy definitely gave us "the look" but she laid there and let Dyllan go to work. Dyllan took the job very seriously. Lucy does a lot of loud sighs, and if she knew how, would probably roll her eyes too
But she still stayed put and let Dyllan play...

The final result...
